Phase two CHARM-project started

Published: 12 May 2015

The so-called CHARM-project, initiated by the English and Dutch road authorities Highways England and Rijkswaterstaat, has entered its second phase. A phase in which prototyping and demonstration for the three areas are central. These areas are:

  1. advanced distributed network management (Lot 1)
  2. detection and prediction of incidents (Lot 2)
  3. support of cooperative Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) functions (Lot 3)

And again, Beijer Automotive as main contractor of Lot 3 was awarded to implement this. The presentation of the accompanying certificate took place on April 22 in Birmingham.

The CHARM promotors see Beijer’s vision and technology in the field of in-car sensor data as an important addition to traffic management. Phase two will be completed in early 2016 with several demonstrations of the parties concerned.
